QR Codes Make Marketing your Brand Interactive

We’ve all seen them around, but what do QR codes do? In a nutshell, they make your potential customers’ experience interactive with you. Many consumers are very familiar with these little virtual gift boxes and will scan every one they find. You have one shot to make them fall in love with you!

Did I really call these little gift boxes? Yes, I did. These cute little codes are great to direct new customers to a special page on your site that might have a coupon code or another offer for your products. This is the big surprise! in getting people to want to click on other pages of your site. If you have a great presence on your site and something to motivate the customer, they will click to go to your homepage and shop.

So where do you put these? Everywhere!

*Tips on Social Media*

One way to ensure that your customers always have access to your code is to make the code your profile picture. Some devices may not be able to scan it when it is really small on the screen, but it you can get those people to click on your page, the picture there is larger and should work on all device scanners. Twitter is inundated with millions of tweets all the time so seeing your code will get people’s attention. If you link to your site’s promo page, you will reach many more people than before. This goes for Twitter, Facebook, email, and blogs among others.

*Tips on Paraphernalia*

No, I’m not talking about illegal stuff here, I mean things you hand out to potential customers. So having your code on your business cards and brochures will encourage people to check it out. Leave your card with your tip when eating out. Put them in the envelopes when mailing your bills out. Leave them on community bulletin boards. Leave magnet business cards on your car when you shop. Make it obvious though that you want them to take them. It is a low pressure way to recruit customers.

*Tips on Tradeshows*

Attending tradeshows can change your life. If you come in with all guns drawn and ready for a battle of the competition, you will stand out. But part of being unique is to make your booth interactive. Free things are great too, but engaging those potential clients while they are there will go all the better for you. Putting the code on posters or your background wallpaper will encourage them to enter the space and participate. Just make sure you print it at a scan savvy size. Too large or too small will do you no good at all. If you are doing a giveaway, have that code on it somewhere. Mugs are fun, stickers inside of books, pins, T-shirts, and tote bags work great. People love freebies and others that see it will be tempted to scan away!

*Tips on your Car*

Your car is the best moving billboard you can ever have. Vinyl lettering with your website over the back window is effective, and so are magnetic signs on the doors of your car. But what about using window clings or stickers on the window as well, bumper stickers too? I don’t mean have this all on the same car, mind you, but giving away bumper stickers and window clings that have your logo and QR code on them will further your reach while using your web address and a cling of the QR code on your own car. Get the word out there!

Bottom line is that these codes can generate a fun buzz about your business. No one knows what is on the other end and curiosity will get the best of them…they will scan. Just put it out there for everyone to see!
